The state-run Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (Egat) is paving the way for development of charging outlets for electric vehicles (EVs) by using data collected from a test run of its own newly developed electric motorcycles, buses and boats.

Indonesia needs 31,000 charging stations to reach electric vehicle goals
State-owned electricity giant PLN estimates that Indonesia needs more than 31,000 new electric vehicle (EV) charging stations by 2030 to reach government goals. Private and public players need to invest Rp 54.6 trillion (US$3.7 billion) to install 31,000 commercial charging stations over the course of 10 years, according to PLN’s station development road map.

Indonesia Allows Private Sector to Develop Electric Vehicle Infrastructures
The supporting infrastructures are classified into recharging stations (SPKLU) and the electric vehicle battery exchange (SPBKLU). According to the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry Regulation No.13 of 2020, enterprises that are permitted to build such infrastructures must hold a special electric supplier business license (IUPTL), which exempts the need to obtain permits from the state-electricity provider PLN.
