Vietnam is looking to reduce the share of fossil fuels, including natural gas and coal, in its future energy mix, while renewables will rise in line with its recent net zero pledge and as securing global funding for fossil fuel projects becomes harder.
Vietnam cuts ethanol import tariffs from 10 July
Vietnam will lower tariffs on ethanol imports to 15pc for all grades from 10 July, though fuel ethanol trade seems unlikely to increase. The change cuts tariffs from 17pc for 100pc pure ethanol and 20pc for 99pc or below for any country that does not have a free trade agreement with Vietnam.
