PH Renewables Inc. (PHRI), a subsidiary of MGEN Renewable Energy Inc. (MGreen), has secured a Php 2.65 billion loan for its 75-megawatt-AC (MWAC) solar project in Baras, Rizal.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, coal-fired power will fall some 23,400 MW, and liquefied natural gas (LNG) power more than 24,300 MW while solar power will grow 33,000 MW, onshore wind power 23,000 MW and offshore wind power 28,500 MW by 2045. Therefore, it is necessary for Vietnam to develop policies that encourage investment in clean energies.

Solarvest Holdings Bhd has launched Malaysia’s first renewable energy (RE) financial technology platform, Powervest. The company said Powervest was complementary to its solar financing solution and was established to promote RE adoption among commercial and industrial players via its zero initial cash outlay proposition.

VIENTIANE (Vientiane Times/Asia News Network): The government has vowed to diversify energy sources in Laos by placing more emphasis on renewable energy sources, particularly electricity generated by solar, wind and biomass systems.

ERA, through its subsidiary JERA Asia, is taking a stake in Vietnamese renewable energy producer Gia Lai Electricity Joint Stock Company (GEC).
