Thai PTTEP to operate Myanmar gas field after TotalEnergies exit
Thai oil and gas giant PTT Exploration and Production Pcl (PTTEP.BK) said on Monday it would take over operations of the Yadana gas field in Myanmar from July following the exit of France’s TotalEnergies (TTEF.PA).
Thailand offers 45.7-million-USD loan for Myanmar’s electricity development
Bangkok (VNA) – Thai Government has approved a concessional loan worth 1.45 billion baht (45.7 million USD) to help Myanmar improve its electricity system. Rachada Dhnadirek, Thailand’s deputy government spokeswoman, said on July 14 that the loan is part of the country’s initiative to strengthen ties with neighbouring countries.
Thailand’s TTCL to develop Myanmar LNG power facility
TTCL Public Co has signed a power purchase agreement with Electric Power Generation Enterprise (EPGE), a state-owned enterprise under the Myanmar Ministry of Electricity and Energy (MOEE), for a liquefied natural gas-to-power project in the Yangon region.
The Lighting Myanmar Program
The International Finance Corporation (IFC), in association with other organizations, has arranged a $3.45 million grant to the Myanmar government as part of the Lighting Myanmar program. The grant will be used to fund a rural solar electrification program that is separate from the national grid.
